SMS becomes history - in the USA they switch to RCS messages

US operators have agreed to replace SMS with the new standard RCS. As part of an initiative for exchanging messages between operators, it is planned to join forces to move to a new text message standard. Its feature is support for Android smartphones.



Promised support for the functions of the standard RCS: text messages, group chat, dial indicator and image transfer. In general, everything is like a messenger. And the application will be compatible with the global standard "Universal Profile". This will allow you to exchange messages with customers of other operators around the world.

So far, nothing has been announced about the appearance of a new standard in Russia.
